ColourPop No Filter Concealer | Swatches + Review {Updated}
I bought the ColourPop No Filter Concealer in a frenzy when they first released a few weeks ago. In classic ColourPop fashion, they sold out in minutes and are just now restocking TODAY. These are going to be part of the permanent collection, so there's no rush. However, in case you were thinking about buying one (or a few), I wanted to post swatches of a few of the deeper shades.
UPDATE March 29, 2018: ColourPop has extended its range of No Filter Concealer shades by adding 15 shades (making a total of 30 shades). Here is a chart of how the old shades match up to the new shade range:
I've been using Tan 50 as my under eye highlight / conceal shade pretty consistently, so if you're a similar skin tone and haven't tried these yet, I'd recommend Dark 40. And now back to the review...
ColourPop No Filter Concealer comes in 15 shades and retails for $6 for 4g of concealer. They're marketed as being matte, lightweight and creaseproof. I've only worn this concealer a few times since it's medium/full coverage, but I'd say it lives up to all the claims. For reference, the formula is very similar to Tarte Shape Tape. The best part, though, is that the No Filter concealer basically sets itself, so you don't really need to set it with powder (unless you want to).In the days leading up to the launch, I scoured Instagram looking for swatches and then I took to YouTube to watch some first impressions videos. Based on my extensive research (I am a lawyer after all), I decided to get the following shades: Tan, Deep Tan, Deep Golden and Deep.
I gotta say, I think I did a damn good job at picking shades. I think that ColourPop No Filter Concealer in Tan is great for highlighting the under eye area. As you can see it's a couple of shades lighter than my skintone, so it's good for brightening.Here's a picture of me wearing the No Filter Concealer in Tan with a full face of makeup:
This look is from a recent tutorial, and you can get the full makeup details in this post.I think Deep Golden is probably the exact shade or just slightly darker than my skintone, and Deep is a shade darker, making it something I might use for a subtle contour. Deep Tan has a peachy undertone that is good for countering dark circles. The No Filter Concealer actually comes in one more shade darker (Rich) and that could be a nice liquid contour shade for me.Overall, I think the No Filter Concealer is really good if you're looking for a matte, nearly full coverage concealer. I personally prefer my concealer to have a little more glow, so I don't reach for this CP version too often. That being said, I'm glad I gave them a try and I definitely recommend them if you're in the market for a good concealer.
